Fulham vs Man Utd: Fred can’t get a penalty because of Klopp

Manchester United did not get a penalty when Fred was fouled by a Fulham player in the box. A handful of fans blame Juergen Klopp for that. What’s up?
Man Utd travel to Fulham’s home base at Craven Cottage on Thursday (1/21/2021) in the Premier League this season. Ademola Lookman’s quick goal in the fifth minute put the hosts ahead 1-0.

The visitors almost got a golden point through a white spot in the 10th minute. Fred fouled Ruben Loftus-Cheek from behind in the box.

Atkinson’s decision was questioned by the Manchester United squad. The fairer remained adamant with his decision and the match resumed without a penalty for the visiting team.

Man Utd equalised in the 21st minute through Edinson Cavani’s goal. The Red Devils were able to turn the game around in the second half through Paul Pogba’s goal, as well as closing out the match with a 2-1 win.

After the game, some Man Utd fans expressed their disappointment at the referee not awarding his team a penalty for Fred’s foul. Not a few even pointed out the referee was affected by Juergen Klopp’s talk about marcus rashford’s penalty count.

As is known, Klopp pointed out Man Utd were familiar with the penalty award after Liverpool’s defeat to Southampton (5/1). The Reds manager claimed Man Utd were given more penalties than the Reds in the two years of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s leadership.

Liverpool vs Man United

Liverpool vs Man United

Ahead of the big match between Liverpool vs Manchester United in the premier league match week 19 which will be held on Sunday (17/01/2021) tomorrow, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is sure to rely on Paul Pogba.

Paul Pogba, who made a brilliant start to the season with a 1-0 win for Man United when he visited Turf Moor at home to Burnley on Wednesday, is expected to replicate his impressive performance against Liverpool tomorrow.

Reports from Sky Sports suggest that Paul Pogba is expected to feature as a starter in Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s 4-2-3-1 formation.

The formation will reportedly be chosen so that Pogba’s role can continue as it should without having to sacrifice Bruno Fernandes’ key role in Man United’s midfield.

Pogba

Pogba is reportedly set to be put on the left flank, a side that many believe is the French midfielder’s best place so far.

He and Marcus Rashford will flank Bruno Fernandes behind Anthony Martial as the lone striker in this match.

While behind Pogba, Fernandes and Rashford, there are names Scott McTominay and Fred who are expected to fend off sporadic attacks from Liverpool.

McTominay and Fred will be Man United’s first wall before meeting a defensive line that will most likely be filled by names such as Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Eric Bailly, Harry Maguire and Luke Shaw.

For the goalkeeper position, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer seems to be back playing David De Gea given his experience will be much needed by Man United in this one-sided match.

Pogba’s magic is expected to make Man United straddle Liverpool and further patent their position at the top of the standings.

Man United currently top the Premier League table with 36 points. Three points adrift of second-placed Liverpool.

Here are the predictions of the starting XI of Liverpool vs Man United in the big match of the 19th week of the Premier League, Sunday (17/1/2021) tomorrow:

Formations:

Liverpool (4-3-3): Allison; Alexander Arnold, Matip/Williams, Fabinho, Robertson; Thiago, Henderson, Wijnaldum; Wrong, Firmino, Mane.

Manchester United (4-2-3-1): De Gea; Wan-Bissaka, Bailly/Lindelof, Maguire, Shaw; McTominay, Fred; Rashford, Fernandes, Pogba; Martial.
